About Women in Business WA
Women in Business WA is a West Australian owned website designed to provide an online networking environment for WA business women, and enable them to showcase their products or services through directory listings, enewsletters and advertising.
Women in Business WA members have a common interest in offering a support network to other women sharing the same business goals. Women in Business WA creates an online platform and opportunity for other women to share, learn and be inspired by others.
As women are excellent communicators and networkers the www.womeninbusinesswa.com.au website is an excellent tool for business women.
Sue Rowe is the driving force behind Women in Business WA. Sue feels women ‘do business differently'. They draw inspiration from other women, and willingly share and learn from each other.
Because women are supportive of each other, Women in Business WA has evolved from a few connected women in 2004 to an online network of more than 800 business women in 2010.
Membership is open to all West Australian women who own or are employed in a legitimate business. Take advantage of our online membership special and Join Now
Sue's Background
A career woman all her married life, Sue was born in Yuna, a farming community north east of Geraldton.
She worked on a Morawa farm, a North Queensland cotton property and administrative roles in Kalgoorlie before settling in 1995. Husband Greg operates a transport business and Sue has been managing the books for the family business since 1995
Living life to the full is a given for this farmer's daughter, truckie's wife and mother of 3. Growing up on a farm, she is an old fashioned girl at heart who has learnt the lessons of self reliance and inner strength.
As a hockey, basketball and sprinter herself, she is really proud of 13 year old Mitchell's sporting achievements. Daughter Natalie is travelling overseas and 26 year old Shaun a qualified tradesman living in Queensland.
Husband Greg is Sue's rock. He is a huge supporter of her business drive and an excellent person to deliver reality checks to the ever optimistic Sue.
Sue's Career
Sue is the Principal of Macao Consulting, a bookkeeping and compliance service established in 1995 for owner operators in the heavy haulage industry.
In recognition of the professional network she inaugurated in WA Sue was nominated as a 2003 Finalist and named 2004 Winner of the WA Transport Woman of the Year. Then in 2005 she was recognized nationally as a finalist in the Australian Transport Woman of the Year for the voluntary work she has fostered in the transport community.
Listed in the Who's Who of WA and the Who's Who of Australia, Sue served as a long standing Director of Transport Women Australia Ltd from 2002 to 2008. She actively sought out industry women to establish a WA chapter, and single handedly organized a fellowship of breakfast functions, guest speakers and information exchange to create a community of transport women.
Ever busy, and at times juggling four committees at once, Sue feels establishing a network for all West Australian business women is a natural progression. The Macao Consulting business is Sue's pension, Women in Business WA is her passion.
